How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)

After I’ve watched this film I want to be viking and get a pet dragon. I love this animated film since I watched the first part and I’ve been watching the short series (Dragon Riders of Berk) while I was waiting for the second part and when it came out, it never disappointed me.

The first part was really great and the second was even better, the story was five years apart between the first and the second one. The characters have grown up, I haven’t seen this much in animated film. 20-year-old Hiccup was an adult, with different appearance, the responsibility of Berk’s business he was given, but he was still Hiccup being Hiccup. Hiccup with his dragon, Toothless, were the cutest thing in this movie, everything was scripted very well, not only the character of Hiccup, but also the others, they’ve grown up, but they’re still who they were. Hiccup and Astrid’s relationship was more romantic, Astrid looked more feminine and prettier, everything in this part has changed and it suit their ages.

Not just the characters, the story has come into the next step as well, what Hiccup, his friends and all vikings on Berk have to face is a lot bigger, there’s an issue about family in this film, about Hiccup’s Mother. The director of this film, Dean Deblois, was the one who directed ‘Lilo & Stitch’ which had this kind of family topic in the film as well, he also did a very great job in How to Train Your Dragon. This movie was the combination of adventure, love, family and friendship that was told very well. 

I love how the soundtracks push the emotion in this movie more deeper, every song fits well in every scene, especially the scene in which Hiccup and Toothless flying together with the song ‘Where No One Goes’ was played along, I can feel all the emotion without any dialogue, I understand everything from the song, the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless, without saying anything, their moments in the first part coming out like a flashback, since the first time they met, the effort of Hiccup trying to know and understand Toothless, the first time they flew together, everything they've gone through, they were each others’ best friends.

One thing that maintain its goodness since the first part is the character's communication through the eyes, it's amazing how the cartoon characters can act so real like a human, this may not be significant but it impressed me.

 I like both two parts of How to Train Your Dragon and still waiting for the third one, hoping that it’s going to be as great as these two. 

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

This movie, Edge of Tomorrow is really great, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the film. The story was written and done very well, I can see the improvement of the characters obviously, Cage (Tom Cruise) was public-relations officer who never knew how to fight in war, he was ordered to cover combat on the beach in France and he died in the first five minutes of the fight but he found himself wake up again, alive. Cage knew that he can reset the day from the blood of “Alpha” (rare, unusual, big alien) he got at his first death, Alpha had the ability to reset the day when it died so after Cage got its blood, its ability was transferred to him, which means that whenever he died, that day would be reset. Cage have fought the same war over and over again, reset the day over and over again with Sergeant Rita Rose Vrataski (Emily Blunt), who once won the war and once had the ability of Alpha like Cage did but after being hospitalized and getting a blood transfusion, that Alpha’s resetting the day ability was washed out. Rita knew this fact and she helped Cage to fight this war. However, Cage was unfortunately transfused the blood so he had to fight this combat with his last chance, can’t die anymore, this scene made the story works even better and exciting. The level of excitement was gradually increasing in every minute of the film, I was supporting Cage since the beginning, as he learned and improved everyday, the story was told in the way that I can see much of his afford. I really like it.

Absolutely perfectly amazing, not only this movie, but the whole Dark Knight Trilogy, all three. I watch all of them and they were incredible, my most favorite is this one ‘The Dark Knight’, the reason I like it most because of Joker, a supervillain, criminal, psychopath who did everything just for fun, he is crazy, super crazy, but cool. Also Heath Ledger’s acting was amazing, support this character even more.

Batman was my favorite superhero too, he was just a human, ordinary guy named Bruce Wayne with no special powers like other heroes, he was just damn rich, with the ability to create the fancy equipments and outfit for his batman look. When Bruce performed as a Batman, he didn’t look like himself , Bruce Wayne anymore, this character was played very well. Batman is a real human-being, he failed, he didn't win every fight, he was wounded, he had flaws and problem, he was even blamed for the crime he didn't commit, blamed to be a bad guy, but he still stood for what's right, no matter how bad it was to be criticized for the thing he didn't do, he was the real 'dark knight'. I like the concept of the Batman that ‘Everyone can be a superhero.’ and ‘To conquer your fear, you must become fear’, the story was really great, and this film was directed excitingly in every scene, all of the characters, acting, editing, everything work together perfectly.

Batman was a real hero, with morality, the scene where he got a chance to kill Joker but he couldn’t, no matter how bad those villains are he couldn’t kill them. Batman was a superb story, and it works better with the techniques that are used in this film. Christopher Nolan is remarkable, this Batman Series, Inception,The prestige, and all of them, they were just like him, remarkably amazing.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Have watched this movie many times and never get bored of it, although it’s not as good as the book version but it’s still my favorite. I like how the story was told in a natural way, as if it was real. The acting, characters, music, everything is natural. At first, it looks like an ordinary film about friends, teenagers, and high school life, but it’s not, it’s more than that. The plot is classic but the way it’s told is extraordinary. Charlie had a problem in the past that affected him now but when Patrick and Sam came into his life, everything was changed, the meaning of 'friendship' was s meaningful in this film. Everyone had problem, a big one, a small one, but no matter when it happened, in the past or present, there’s always a way out. Charlie was not alone, not the only one who had a problem, he is just like all of us. 

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”, my favorite quote of this movie, it’s true, the first time I saw the two scenes where this phrase was in I felt like.. I don’t know, no word can explain.

 This film is full of emotion, tears and happiness, it’s beautiful and it’s real.
